Trying to recruit in 2019 in Ballarat is not an easy task. Unemployment is low, many industries are experiencing skills shortages and we are regionally located. As a Business Owner or a Manager you have got the work there to be done but you can’t find the people – the right people – to perform the work. What do you do?
You’ve run a recruitment advert using the traditional advertising channels; online job boards, print media, you’ve posted it on your Linked In or Facebook account and chances are one of two things have happened.
- You’ve had a handful of applications but no one wows you, it’s disappointing to say the least.
- You’ve received a high volume of applications and after spending hours reading resume after resume you are wondering if the candidates who have applied have even read your job advert because their skills and experience are worlds apart from what you advertised for.
Where to now? You’re under the pump, the workload is building. If you don’t do something your other team members are going to end up walking because they are fed up with trying to carry the load.
