Product Manager

Goldacres is an industry-leading manufacturer and supplier of world-class agricultural chemical spray equipment. Due to sustained growth, Goldacres have a need for a highly experienced Product Manager to join their team and manage the product lifecycle for their hobby and lifestyle product range. This is a newly created position and requires a self-motivated and engaged leader to help drive sales growth while guiding and informing management on product pricing, margins and best channels to market for products. 

We require a commercially astute, strategic thinker who can lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of both short and long term “product roadmaps” for the  hobby and lifestyle product range. You’ll need to work effectively across the marketing, sales, R&D, engineering and purchasing teams to scope out new products, advise on changes to existing products and when to expire products. A key focus of the role will be understanding the market, customers, dealers, distributors and competitors to ensure data is gathered and analysed to identify market trends and opportunities. With this data you’ll be responsible for developing plans for how products go to market, performing sales forecasting and developing marketing plans and sales promotions.

To be considered for this role, you will bring strong product management experience, preferably with a technical product. Experience in sprayers is not required, training in this regard will be provided, however a mechanical aptitude and an understanding of the principles of design and manufacturing is critical. Degree qualifications in Business, Marketing or Engineering will be highly regarded. You will be able to demonstrate a proven background in product life cycle management and the development of marketing and promotion strategies.

Key skills required include well developed communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate, initiative to “work it out,” strong analytical skills and you must be a self-starter who is outcome focused and driven to achieve business goals and objectives.

This role requires the successful candidate to be based in the Ballarat head office, however regular travel will be required and longer term there is the potential to work remotely a couple of days per week. An attractive salary package will be negotiated based on skills and experience and will include a fully maintained company vehicle.
