Wellbeing, safety and respect for all children and families is the Cafs (Child and Family Services) vision. An independent, community owned and governed not-for-profit with no religious affiliations, Cafs provide services throughout the Ballarat, Hepburn, Moorabool, Ararat, Golden Plains and Pyrenees regions. Delivering a comprehensive range of programs to support children, families and individuals, their key services focus on early help and prevention, targeted support and ongoing assistance.
With a primary (but not exclusively) focus on children in Foster Care, including the Circle Program, the Team Leader Home Based Care plays a critical role in ensuring that the care and/or case management of children in care is delivered in line with various compliance and legislative standards and requirements. Your role will be to lead these programs with a strong focus on carer engagement and support whilst ensuring excellent case management of the child in their care.
Your key deliverables will include:
- Overseeing and managing the Foster Care program, ensuring compliance standards are met and strategic objectives achieved
- Leading and developing the Cafs Circle program in conjunction with the therapeutic provider
- Overseeing and coordinating the Cafs contact centre, including the supervision and support of family contact
- Providing regular and effective supervision to all direct reports
- Working collaboratively with other department team leaders and managers to ensure the successful delivery of the Foster Care Program
A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or relevant field, with substantial post graduate experience is required for this position, along with previous leadership and people management experience. You will need to demonstrate your ability to lead in sometimes complex and demanding situations while remaining considered, accountable and resilient. This role is all about relationships, hence you’ll demonstrate warmth, energy, a positive outlook and be able to connect with others. A significant component of the role is compliance focused and requires well-developed skills in organizing, planning, problem solving and a systems focus.
