Introducing regionalsalaries.com.au

Ever wondered if you are getting paid what you’re worth? How does what you get paid compare to others in regional Victoria who do the same job?

This would have to be the number one question I get asked as a recruiter. No, money isn’t always everything however whether we are considering applying for a new job or want to prepare for our next performance appraisal and salary review, what we get paid is an important part of the equation.

Talking money, especially at interview has always been taboo. People are secretive about what they really earn and more often than not people exaggerate what they earn. If you’ve ever tried to find out if what you are getting paid is a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work based on your specific skills, experience, qualifications and the type of organisation you work for, it’s a pretty hard task. Personally, being quoted a salary range in an annual salary survey, for example $70,000 to $95,000 for a job tells me not much at all and when you factor in the difference in pay scales between Melbourne and regional Victoria, I’m really no better off in knowing what I’m worth and how I compare to my peers.

That’s why Inspire HQ have launched Regional Salaries.

Now, for the first time ever, you can confidentially compare your salary with what people across regional Victoria are really earning in your profession. A free resource, Regional Salaries is regional Victoria’s first real time online salary survey, providing detailed, accurate and relevant information so you can find out if you’re getting a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.

Working on an honesty based, give to get system, you can compare your salary and search comparable salaries based on your specific profession, level of experience, benefits and the type and size of the organisation you work for. You can use the site to keep an eye on salary trends and receive email alerts when new salary data is entered that’s relevant to you.

To make Regional Salaries as useful and relevant as possible we need to build the data. Basically, the more real information you add the more real information you will have access to. Currently in its infancy, we’re reaching out to people to contribute their salary data to help us make the product a success and a valuable tool for people across regional Victoria.

At Inspire HQ, we feel it’s important for people and businesses to have access to relevant, timely and accurate salary data, specific to their region. As they say “information is knowledge and knowledge is power” and we believe regional salaries will arm you with the knowledge and power to achieve career satisfaction.
