About ECKA
The Eureka Community Kindergarten Association Inc. (ECKA) is a not-for-profit Early Years Management (EYM) organisation that was founded in 2003 when six community kindergartens came together to establish the organisation. ECKA is committed to providing leadership and management to community-based early childhood education and care services; operating 29 early education and childcare services across Ballarat and surrounding local government areas, with a current workforce of over 200 employees.

About the role
The newly created role of Recruitment and Talent Coordinator will report directly to the HR Director and sits as part of the Human Resources team. The overarching purpose of the role is to ensure ECKA has the right people, with the right qualifications, skills and experience, in the right locations for ECKA to be able to deliver their services. How ECKA sources, attracts, recruits, and onboards their future workforce will be the number one priority of this role.

This is a part-time role (negotiable 18-25 hours per week) that will be based at ECKA’s head office, located in Wendouree.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Developing creative recruitment strategies and advertisements that effectively highlight ECKA’s employee value proposition and reach a diverse and broad candidate pool
  • Planning and coordinating effective recruitment campaigns – screen resumes and applications, conduct initial phone interviews, schedule, prepare and assist with interviews
  • Undertaking background checks and reference checks as needed
  • Assessing employee training needs and monitor training programs, sourcing appropriate training courses as required
  • Tracking and reporting on recruitment metrics – time to fill, cost per hire and candidate experience

About you
The Recruitment and Talent Coordinator role requires a proven background in a similar role and you’ll be able to demonstrate your experience in recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention. You may have worked in an admin role and supported the recruitment and onboarding function of a business, alternatively you may have worked in a dedicated recruitment and talent management role.

Essential skills for success in this role are:

  • A well-developed understanding of recruitment processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An intermediate to advanced level of computer skills
  • Excellent time management with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Out of the box thinking to design creative and innovative candidate attraction strategies

To be considered for this role you must hold or be willing to obtain:

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Cleared National Police Record Check
  • Valid employer Working with Children Check
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Be physically able to safely undertake all aspects of the position
