Back in September, I wrote about the idea of a “Spring Reset” – using the seasonal change as a mini fresh start to set up the final stretch of the year. It’s always been my favourite kind of goal setting: small, intentional and grounded in what actually matters, not just what looks good on paper.
Fast forward a few months, and we’ve flipped the calendar into a new year (and somehow, we’re already through the first quarter!)
So here we are – April. The Easter break is upon us, the pace is picking up again, and maybe like me you’re wondering how are those 2025 goals shaping up?
Time for a gentle check in
This isn’t about pressure or hustle or “you should be further along by now.” It’s just a pause. A moment to check in with the version of you who set those goals back in January – likely with clear eyes, fresh energy and “New Year New Me” intention.
Here are a few prompts I’ve been asking myself lately:
- Do my goals still feel aligned with where I’m at now?
- What’s working? What’s not?
- What small shift would make things easier or more energizing?
It’s amazing how much can change in a just a few months – in our work, our personal lives, our mindset. A goal that felt exciting in January, might feel heavy now. Or maybe you’ve made more progress than you realised and haven’t stopped to celebrate it.
Progress over perfection
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned – especially from goal setting over the years – is that consistency matters more than intensity. You don’t have to go full steam ahead every day. You just need to keep gently returning to what matters most. Some weeks that might just look like ticking things of your list and getting it done. Other weeks, it might look like resting so you can show up again tomorrow. Both count.
Reset season isn’t just for Spring
If you’re craving a bit of a reboot, now is a great time to do it. We can often wait until June/July for a ‘mid year review’ but try to bring that moment forward and give yourself the space now to reflect and rest.
Ask yourself:
- What do I want the next three months to feel like?
- What do I want to have moved forward with by Winter?
- What do I need more (or less) of in my week to support that?
Sometimes a tiny tweak in your routine or your mindset is enough to reignite your momentum.
Your goals aren’t set in stone. You’re allowed to change direction. You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to pivot completely if that’s what feels right.
The ‘real’ success lies in staying connected to what matters most – and giving yourself permission to grow, adapt, and adjust as the year unfolds.
So here’s your friendly nudge: take a moment this long weekend to check in with your goals for 2025. Not to judge yourself, but to reconnect with what you’re working towards and why.
You’ve still got plenty of time.
